20 Years of Dog Parks
We've been doing this longer than anyone. Here's how it happened.
The Beginning
USA Dog Parks launched as a simple HTML directory — a list of off-leash dog parks organized by state. No reviews, no photos, no ads. Just a dog parent trying to help other dog parents find a safe place to play.
All 50 States
By 2010, the directory had grown to cover over 5,000 parks across all 50 states. Community submissions fueled the growth — dog owners from across the country sent in their local parks to be added.
Real Reviews, Real People
We introduced the first version of our real-person review system. No star ratings from bots or aggregated scores from other sites — just honest feedback from people who actually visited the parks.
Gear Testing Begins
We launched our independent gear testing program. Every product we recommend is bought with our own money, tested in real parks with real dogs. No sponsors, no paid placements.
Rebuilt for the Future
USA Dog Parks was completely rebuilt — new design, new guides, new scoring system with the Social Vibe Index™. Same mission: help every dog find a happy place to run free.
